Parks and Recreation

The City of Blair has more than 150 acres of parks and a variety of recreational facilities, all of these described below.

Three of the parks - Steyer, Black Elk-Neihardt and Rhoades - together with the ground of Arbor Park School and the campus of Dana College form the Blair Community Arboretum, an affiliate site of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum.  Only Arbor Lodge in Nebraska City has more tree species that the Blair Arboretum.

Park hours are from dawn to dusk. Alcohol is not permitted.  Dogs must be leashed, and you must clean up after your pet.

THE CITY DOES NOT RESERVE PARK SHELTERS.  THEY ARE AVAILABLE ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS.

If you are planning to hold a large special event in a city park (ex: Jazz in the Park, Optimist Easter Egg Hunt etc.), we would appreciate prior written notice to the attention of Brenda Wheeler, City Clerk, 218 S. 16th Street, Blair, Nebraska 68008 or by email at brwheeler@ci.blair.ne.use so that the appropriate city departments can be notified of the special event.

Please help keep our parks clean!!!
