Solid
Waste
The City of Blair has entered into an agreement with Douglas
County authorizing the City of Blair to dispose of solid waste in
the Douglas County Landfill near Elk City, Nebraska. It shall
be unlawful for any person to dispose or dump garbage or solid waste
except grass and leaves at any other place or site other than the
Douglas County Landfill.
By City Ordinance all
Solid Waste Haulers removing waste from the city limits of Blair are
required to dispose of all waste in the Douglas County Landfill and
obtain from the City Clerk's office a "Solid
Waste Transporter's License". A license and license fee
of $300 shall be executed and paid prior to any Solid Waste Hauler
collecting solid waste in Blair.
All residents of the
city limits are required to have proper garbage containers with
tight-fitting lids and obtain the services of a Licensed Solid Waste
Hauler. Below is a listing of the current Solid Waste Haulers
in Blair:
