The City of Blair enforces the 2009 International Building Code,
Residential Code, Mechanical Code, Plumbing Code, Energy
Conservation Code, Property Maintenance Code and the 2008 National
Electrical Code. Copies of these
codes are available at the Blair Public Library for your review.
Building Permits can be
obtained at City Hall, 218 S. 16th Street, between the hours of 8:00
am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We are not able to accept
applications by fax or as an e-mail attachment because supporting
documentation is required with most applications. If you have
questions regarding the issuance of a building permit you may

The City of Blair has
adopted a Zoning Ordinance to preserve, protect and promote the
public health, safety, peace, comfort, convenience, prosperity and
general welfare. The City of Blair's zoning jurisdiction
includes all property within city limits as well as a two-mile
jurisdiction.

WHAT DO I NEED TO GET MY BUILDING PERMIT?
If you are building a new home you will need the
following:
One (2) complete sets of house plans which include
square footage
mechanical, plumbing and electrical drawings
Legal description of the property
Site plan showing where the house will be located on the property
(distance to all property lines and between all structures is
required)
